The Extra Degree: Why I’m Launching HXD212
I have gone quieter lately. On purpose.
Less noise. One mission.
People asked me where I went. I did not leave. I was just listening. And to be honest, I did not like what I heard.
I looked around at our industry and I got a bad feeling. The hospitality world is getting comfortable. The tech world is playing it safe. Everything feels polite. Everything feels lukewarm.
That is when progress stops. Comfort is the enemy of change.
The power of one degree
There is a rule in physics that I cannot stop thinking about. It is the difference between 211°F and 212°F.
At 211 degrees, water is just hot. It sits there in the pot. It does nothing.
At 212 degrees, it boils. It becomes steam.
That is just one degree. But that one degree changes the state of everything. Steam powered the trains. Steam drove the Industrial Revolution. Steam changed history.
One degree is the difference between standing still and moving the world.
I looked at the work we are doing in this industry. We are stuck at 211. We are doing good work. But we are not boiling.
I decided to stop waiting for someone else to turn up the heat. I decided to do it myself.
Behind closed doors in Vienna
For the past few months, I have been working behind closed doors here in Vienna. I have been filming. I have been recording.
I did not want the polished speeches you hear at conferences. I did not want the safe version of the truth that gets approved by a PR team.
I invited the people who are actually shaping the future. The rebels. The misfits. The ones who are not afraid to break the rules.
We sat down and we talked.
We talked about the hard stuff. The messy parts of innovation. The times we failed. The uncomfortable truths about where this industry is going.
This is not just a podcast. This is ignition.

HXD stands for Hospitality x Disruption. It is the crash between human experience and radical change.
We live in a world full of AI and automation. Algorithms are taking over the easy work. But algorithms cannot be brave. Algorithms cannot be rebels.
I want to prove that human courage matters more than anything else.
My mission is simple. I am collecting the blueprints from people who have already done the impossible. I am handing those blueprints to you.
The temperature rises
I am done with lukewarm.
This is an invitation to the creators and the disruptors.
